Meet The Team
President
Vanessa Zamora
Vanessa is so excited to be your SDSU Grad NSSLHA President this year! When she’s not working on school related things, she’s probably at Target, the gym, hanging out with friends, or looking up restaurants on yelp. As a first generation, bilingual, and bicultural student she is passionate about developing skills to become an SLP that can serve and advocate for communities like the one she grew up in, as well as mentoring other aspiring SLPs. Her goal this year is to provide resources for her peers that will provide them with opportunities to learn and unlearn.
VP of Academic Affairs
Hannah Green
Hannah is thrilled to be a part of Grad NSSLHA! You can usually find her at an online conference on voice disorders, eating matzah straight from the box, or serenading her dog with her guitar. Aside from music, she is passionate about helping others explore their areas of interest in our field. Her goals this year are to raise awareness of professional development resources and make them more accessible to SLHS graduate students. Her motto is “continuing education is not just for CCC-SLPs!”
VP of Communication & Finance
Helena Lee
Lena is excited to support Grad NSSLHA this year! Outside of school, she’s usually busy baking up a storm, picking up way too many crocheting projects and new hobbies, or outdoors doing sports. She is passionate about bilingualism and is also interested in international opportunities for SLPs. Her goals this year are to help support the many great ideas and events that NSSLHA has planned this year and to facilitate more exposure and interactions between NSSLHA, the MA students, and other professionals in related fields and in our community.
VP of Planning & Programming
Karyna Maclean
Karyna is delighted to be a part of Grad NSSLHA as the VP of Planning and Programming! When relieved from her school duties, she can be found drawing, gaming, reading, working out, and of course hanging out with her friends! Her passions in the field are molded in the expansive array of opportunities to grow as a clinician, whether it be learning or unlearning, as well as the creativity involved with the work. Her goal is to make these opportunities known to all members of the continuously developing field, in order to support those within the community. Additionally, she’s looking forward to bringing her creative ideas and any passions expressed by her fellow peers to all future NSSLHA events.
VP of Membership
Eva Perez
Eva is very excited to be a part of SDSU Grad NSSLHA this year! When not busy with school, you can find her baking, making polymer clay earrings, or spending time with family and friends. As someone who was born and lived in Mexico, she is passionate about helping others take advantage of the many opportunities in the US that aren’t available in other countries. Part of helping is bringing awareness to opportunities that are available, as well as helping bridge both the language and cultural gap that comes along with interacting in a diverse community.
VP of JEDI
Danielle Guevarra
Dani is elated to be your SDSU Grad NSSLHA VP of JEDI this year! When she’s not busy doing schoolwork, you can find her learning how to speak her heritage language or trying out local food spots with friends. As a person of color, topics of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion have always been important to her. She is excited to make space for these topics in this program by providing resources and safe spaces where the voices, needs and experiences of groups who have been marginalized are centered.
